Party co-hosts John Cook and Todd Bishop

We're excited to kick off the official launch of TechFlash as well as our quarterly speaker series January 22 at the Palace Ballroom in downtown Seattle. It's going to be a fun party, one you are not going to want to miss.

We've got some cool giveaways in the hopper and are lining up speakers and mystery guests. Of course, there will be great food, drink and -- based on some of the early sign ups -- a nice mix of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and Microsofties. (Well worth the $35 price of admission, we think.) We will also be providing a sneak preview of where the site is headed and what's to come in our series of events.

We like Thursdays. Also, the event is early enough -- 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. -- that it shouldn't conflict with other things that night.

Gotta admit that I don't recall whether that was a "scoop" oriented celebration or not.

In general the $35-$50 event in seattle is when a dinner served. The "snack" event would run $15-$25 at most.
You might want to unveil more details about the event. In this way could avoid the disappointed guests who paid $35 only to learn how the website will look in the future. Besides, in such economy the $35 ticket worth much more than a year ago.

your employer or department may cover all or part of the cost -- look into it.
