TeachStreet is expanding its geographic footprint.
The Seattle startup, which helps people find things like Spanish, yoga, and knitting classes, rolled out service in the Bay Area today, with 65,000 free listings.
It's the third major metropolitan area for TeachStreet, which already lists classes and tutors in Seattle and Portland. The company now features 120,000 classes and instructors in more than 500 subject areas.
TeachStreet is headed by Amazon.com veteran Dave Schappell and is backed by Madrona Venture Group and Bezos Expeditions, the personal investment vehicle of Schappell's former boss, Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos.
My colleague John Cook reported on TeachStreet in March, when the company raised $2.25 million from investors.
