Jobster's old logo
News last month that Jobster was cutting 38 percent of its staff could be viewed as a blow to those who were let go. Or, maybe not. If history is any clue, there might be a new wave of startup companies emerging from the chaos. After all, former Jobster employees have proven to be quite the entrepreneurial bunch.
With the help of Neil Crist -- an ex-Jobster employee who now runs Acture Consulting -- we have compiled a list of more than 20 former employees of the online recruiting upstart who have played a key part in starting new companies. If we missed any, let us know.

I've spoken to a number of ex-Jobster workers over the past few weeks who have said that former CEO Jason Goldberg -- despite some of his leadership foibles -- had a keen eye for finding entrepreneurial folks. What was Goldberg -- who is now running a new New York startup himself called Social Median -- putting in the water over there on Elliott Avenue?
