I don't know about you, but based on some of my Internet connectivity issues recently, I find it somewhat hard to believe that Forbes has dubbed Seattle the most "wired" city in America.
Still, Seattle beat out two-time champion Atlanta for the honor. How did Forbes come up with the ranking?
It figured the percentage of Internet users with high-speed connections and number of companies offering broadband service. It also took into account wi-fi hotspots, something that Seattle -- with a coffee shop on nearly every block -- certainly rules in.
Washington D.C. rose from 11th to 3rd place, with Forbes noting that it may be gunning for the top now that tech-savvy Barack Obama is in office. (See earlier report on the new administration's high-tech frustrations upon entering the White House.) Orlando and Boston rounded out the top five.
Here's the snapshot of Seattle along with a slide show of the other top 30 cities on the list. Portland, which recently received brodband wireless service from Clearwire, ranked 14th on the list.
