For the second time in the past two months, Marchex is cutting staff. The Seattle domain name operator and local advertising company announced that it is cutting four percent of its staff -- about 15 positions -- as part of a larger reorganization. It also announced new operating structure, with Peter Christothoulou taking over as chief operating officer and Matthew Berk assuming the position of executive vice president of engineering.
"With this reorganization, we believe we have the right organizational framework in place to win additional market share, further our product innovation, deepen our customer relationships, and fully realize our potential as a leader in the local market," Chief Executive Russell Horowitz said in a statement this morning.
The news follows a 10 percent cut in early December, which led to about 35 people losing their jobs.
