Rebecca Lovell
Rebecca Lovell, the public face of the Alliance of Angels for the past three years, has accepted the executive director position at the Northwest Entrepreneur Network.
The 37-year-old University of Washington MBA grad said in an interview that she is "thrilled" with the new position at the 700-member non-profit, adding that she plans to "elevate" the NWEN brand and "fine tune" the messaging in coming months. Given the state of the economy, Lovell also said she will spend part of 2009 "empowering entrepreneurs."
Lovell also wants to evaluate the organization's events, noting that she plans to "assess where we are offering unique value." NWEN hosts monthly Pub Nights and Venture Breakfasts, and holds the annual Entrepreneur University.
The NWEN position became available late last month after Peter Quinn stepped down after 14 months. Wishpot Chief Executive Todd Humphrey said Lovell is a good fit, while Jane Park of Julep Nail Parlor described her as "an incredibly positive force in the community."
Lovell said it was "bittersweet" leaving the Alliance of Angels, but she said the angel investment group is in good hands under the direction of Susannah Malarkey and its MBA fellows.
