SAN FRANCISCO -- The line was definitely smaller coming into the Macworld Expo keynote this morning, but there were still plenty of elbows thrown as reporters jockeyed for position close to the stage where Apple exec Phil Schiller will soon be delivering the keynote.
The scene on the streets outside was a slightly surreal as Macworld attendees walked past news boxes that displayed front-page stories about Apple CEO Steve Jobs disclosing a hormone imbalance as the cause of his weight loss. The San Francisco Chronicle and San Jose Mercury News are running before-and-after photos showing just how dramatic that weight loss has been.
The biggest subject of speculation here in press row isn't about possible Apple product announcements but rather about Jobs: Will he make a surprise appearance? Feel free to speculate yourself in the comments below.
I've got a good vantage point, and I'll be posting updates throughout the morning, Internet access permitting. Stay tuned.
