The Washington Technology Industry Association this morning announced the finalists for its 14th annual Industry Achievement Awards, which will take place March 25 at the Paramount Theater in downtown Seattle.
As in past years, I plan to make my own predictions for the winners a few days before the event. I've got some improvement to do, since last year I was zero for six. And there will be an added twist this year since the WTIA plans to open the voting to the tech community on February 23. Keep reading for the nominees.
Commercial Product or Service of the Year: Concur, INRIX, Visible Technologies
Consumer Product or Service of the Year: Pet Holdings, Picnik, Wetpaint
Breakthrough Start-up of the Year: Apptio, LiquidPlanner, Ontela
Service Provider of the Year: AdReady, Azaleos, Cobalt
Best use of Technology in the Government, Non-profit or Educational Sector: eCityGov Alliance, Snohomish County Planning & Development Services, South Sound Health Communication Network
Technology Innovator of the Year: Don Ledford, VANTOS; Darrin Massena, Picnik; Matthew Parks, Visto Corporation
Technology Leader of Tomorrow: Aaron Love, St. Therese School, eighth grade; Matthew McMillan, St. Therese School, seventh grade; Israel Zemeadim, Washington Middle School, eighth grade.
