Daptiv, the Seattle online project management company, laid off an undisclosed number of staffers today. A spokeswoman confirmed the cuts in an email, but didn't provide details on the number of jobs lost or why the company was trimming its staff again.
Last October, the company laid off 21 employees or 14 percent of its staff. At the time of the cuts, Daptiv employed 125 people. Founded in 1997 and formerly known as eProject, layoffs are nothing new for the company. During the last recession, Daptiv eliminated positions to the point where the staff levels dropped to just 40 workers.
Last summer, Daptiv raised $9 million in venture funding from Bay Partners, Kennet Partners and others. Customers such as Honeywell, Merrill Lynch, Sprint and others use the software to help employees collaborate on projects.
