Shelfari, the Amazon.com-owned social networking site for book lovers, has introduced new search features that help people more easily find books, groups, members and other information.
More bad news for the Seattle biotech industry. Seattle-based Trubion Pharmaceuticals said it is cutting 25 employees, or about 25 percent of the staff, due to “continuing uncertainty in the capital markets and the global economy.” More from the press release.
Dot-com survivor Onvia today reported fourth quarter revenue of $5.5 million, flat when compared to same period in 2007. The Seattle company, which helps businesses locate government contracts and other sales leads, lost $846,000 during the quarter and announced that it eliminated two senior executives in order to reduce costs.
