Paul Allen is a software mogul, a professional sports team owner and a cancer survivor. Now, the Seattle billionaire is about to add author to his resume.
The reclusive Microsoft co-founder plans to write a memoir, according to Crain's New York. Terms of the book deal were not disclosed, and Allen isn't really hurting for cash even though his net worth took a huge hit in the recent listing of billionaires. What would you like to hear about Allen's life?
Citing industry insiders and publishing sources, Crain's reports that the Portfolio unit of Penguin Group USA acquired worldwide rights to the memoir. It also reports that Esther Newberg, co-head of ICM’s literary department, had been looking for a publisher for the past month.
UPDATE: Paul Allen spokesman David Postman declined to comment.
