Big Fish Games is looking to take a bite out of the European market with the establishment today of a European headquarters in Cork City, Ireland. The Seattle company said it plans to add as many as 100 new positions at the facility over the next three years, the second international office that it has announced since landing $83 million in venture funding last summer.
In October, the company established a new game studio in Vancouver, B.C.
The new Ireland office will focus on making localized versions of games, as well as customer support. More than half of the company's game sales now take place outside the U.S.
"Our European headquarters will further enhance our focus and commitment to providing unparallel service to our rapidly growing base of customers in these regions," said CEO Jeremy Lewis in a statement.
The distributor of casual games - which employed 350 people just two months ago -- has been growing fast. It recorded revenue of $85 million last year, a 70 percent increase. It is now distributing about 1.5 million games on peak days.
