Kindle to blogosphere: Give us your content (and money)
Amazon's Kindle lets users download electronic books, newspapers, magazines and select number of blogs. Now the company is opening the Kindle to the entire blogosphere. Amazon created a beta site called Kindle Publishing for Blogs that lets anyone upload their blog into the Kindle store.
Amazon says it takes 12 to 48 hours after the set-up process for blogs to show up in the Kindle store.
Amazon is keeping tight control of the blog pricing, saying it will "define the price based on what we deem is a fair value for customers" (blogs cannot be free under the rules). The company takes a 70 percent cut of the subscription revenue.
Many of the blogs in the Kindle store right now are priced at $1.99 or 99 cents per month.
