Clearwire continues to overhaul its management team as newly-appointed Chief Executive William Morrow puts his stamp on the expanding broadband wireless carrier. In the latest move, Clearwire has named Erick Prusch -- the former CEO of Borland Software and a former executive at Intuit -- to the position of chief financial officer. The Kirkland company also has tapped Teresa Elder -- most recently the CEO of Vodafone, Ireland and a former exec at AT&T Broadband -- as president of strategic partnerships and wholesale.
The news follows the departures of Chief Operating Officer Perry Satterlee and Chief Accounting Officer Robert DeLucia, who announced that they were stepping down in May.
Leaving the company in the most recent shake up are Chief Strategy Officer Scott Richardson and Chief Financial Officer David Sach, who is leaving the company to "pursue new opportunities."
Clearwire is pushing hard to roll out its 4G WiMax network in 80 markets by the end of next year, a rapid growth spurt that will cause continued losses in the near term. In the first six months of the year, the company lost $524 million on revenue of $125 million.
In announcing the new execs, Morrow said: "I am confident that we have assembled a team that will lead the company forward to best serve our customers, partners and shareholders."
Clearwire's stock was up slighthly on the news, trading up 18 cents at $7.99.
