Ben Huh
Maybe it is people's desire to escape during tough economic times. Or, perhaps folks just like a quick laugh.
But Ben Huh's media star continues to rise. The founder of I Can Has Cheezburger, Fail Blog, GraphJam and more than 15 other quirky Web sites has now landed in the pages of Time magazine, the latest in a series of news articles on what has to be the strangest (and fastest-growing) of all Seattle Internet startups. Huh -- whose network of sites attracted 10 million visitors last month -- even seems amazed by the success.
"There's no way on the planet this should actually work," Huh tells Time. "But it's working."
Time reporter Laura Fitzpatrick -- who describes the Web properties as "spellbindingly inane blogs" -- points out details of Huh's growing comedic media empire (including ad rates) and notes what it takes to work at the 20-person company (people who've hated at least one of their past jobs).
Here's more on Huh from the TechFlash Q&A last year.
