The folks behind FailBlog and I Can Has Cheezburger continue to grow their online empire of comedic Web sites. And their latest addition should be of interest to anyone who likes perusing photos of poorly decorated kitchens, horribly painted bedrooms or toilets that -- for whatever reason -- are located in the middle of living rooms.
Pet Holdings -- the parent company of Fail Blog and I Can Has Cheezburger -- has gobbled up the Web site LovelyListing.com. The site was created by Seattleite Sara Lorimer -- who compiles the photos from residential real estate listings and adds her own funny headlines and commentary.
LovelyListing -- which routinely draws more than a dozen or more comments on posts -- has an off-the-wall style that should fit right in with the quirky nature of its new parent company. In fact, here's what Lorimer had to say about joining forces with a site known for funny photos of cats.
"Thanks to a recent merger of It’s Lovely! Corp. and LOLcats Inc, I get to do all the fun stuff from now on while some poor intern at a desk made out of sawhorses and an old door has to read the hate mail. So, hello, pussycat! I don’t know what people who come to the Internet for the cute kittens are going to think about photos of moldy carpets and naked Estonian men, but Cheezeburger, LTD has confidence it will all be fine," she notes. "I’ll still be doing the writing, such as it is; I just don’t have to do the technical side any more."
As we've noted recently, Ben Huh's Pet Holdings network continues to grow and grow. The 15 or so sites attracted about 10 million visitors last month.
In a Tweet tonight, Huh joked that "some call us the Borg. I prefer BLORG. ;)"
