It's been a little while since we've heard anything about Qiming Venture Partners, the Chinese venture arm of Bellevue's Ignition Partners. But The Wall Street Journal's Venture Capital Dispatch blog reports today that the firm has added a new executive director and venture partner.
The firm -- which raised a $320 million fund last year -- has named Janet Yu to the position of executive director and Chivas Lam to the position of venture partner.
Lam will focus his efforts on the clean tech industry.
Venture Capital Dispatch also reports that Qiming may consider a "yuan-dominated fund" -- a government-backed financial instrument that has attracted interest from large private equity shops in recent months.
Qiming holds stakes in more than 30 companies, including media, healthcare and consumer product companies. The venture fund has direct participation from Ignition's Rich Tong, John Zagula and Robert Headley.
