Comcast is looking to make mobile TV a reality in the U.S. The giant cable company today said that it will at some point start distributing shows to customers' cell phones, with Information Week reporting that the service would most likely flow over the Clearwire WiMax network.
"I can envision sometimes in the future (On Demand Online) having a wireless component," Comcast Chief Financial Officer Michael Angelakis reportedly said at the Goldman Sachs Communicopia conference.
The service may be bundled with a Comcast customer's home Internet service at no extra charge. No time line was given for the service, with Reuters reporting that Comcast is also mulling a mobile phone service.
Comcast is the largest cable company in Washington state.
