Fans of the reality TV show Survivor will be able to follow along like never before thanks to a new mobile Web site and application for the Palm Pre developed by Seattle-based Treemo Labs. The new app -- sponsored by Sprint -- allows users to watch previews or full episodes of Survivor: Samoa as well as participate in the Survivor fantasy game.
Treemo was founded four years ago by Brent Brookler, a wireless entrepreneur who previously co-founded the mobile entertainment company Mobliss. And Brookler has worked with CBS before, helping the television network develop the CBS EyeMobile citizen journalism apps.
Treemo, which originally started out creating its own mobile social network, has moved into creating new applications. Among thos are a series of poker and card game for the iPhone, including Tic-A-Tac Poker.
UPDATE: I asked CBS whether they planned to roll out the Survivor app for the iPhone. After all, many TV shows are extending their brands into the mobile world via Apple's widly popular smart phone. But not CBS. A spokeswoman said they do not have an iPhone app for Survivor, and have no plans to extend to the platform.
I guess that leaves iPhone users to choose from 85,000 other apps.
