We've heard from plenty of Seattle travelers who've fallen in love with Virgin America's luxurious flights to the San Francisco Bay Area. One of the key benefits for geek travelers has been the existence of Wi-Fi, allowing entrepreneurs, VCs and other tech execs to get work done as they cruise up and down the West Coast.
Now, through a partnership announced today between Virgin America and Google, the wireless Internet service will be made available for free to all travelers between Nov. 10 and Jan. 15.
The two companies are touting the service as a "holiday gift." Wi-Fi service on Virgin typically costs $12.95 for flights over three hours and $9.95 for flights between 90 minutes and three hours.
Virgin America became the first U.S. airline to offer its in-flight Internet service on every flight.
And Google and Virgin America have worked together before, sponsoring the "Day in the Cloud" puzzle challenge earlier this summer.
Virgin offers direct flights between to the San Francisco Bay Area as well as the Los Angeles area from Seattle.
