InfoSpace is a distant player in the Internet search business when compared to Google, Yahoo and Microsoft. But the Bellevue company is still posting solid results.
InfoSpace today announced third quarter revenues of $54.4 million, a 38 percent increase over the same period last year. Meanwhile, the company reported net income of $1.8 million, or five cents per share. That compares to a net loss for the same period last year.
"We are seeing positive trends in the overall search industry and are optimistic about our continued growth in this environment," said InfoSpace CEO Will Lansing in a statement.
The company also remains in a strong cash position, with $214 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities.
Shares of InfoSpace were down four percent today, but are up 10 percent on the year.
InfoSpace -- which operates the Dogpile, Metacrawler and other search engines -- said it expects fourth quarter revenues between $57 million and $60 million and net income between $3.3 million and $4.3 million. That was above estimates from analysts polled by Thomson Reuters.
