The European Commission on Friday formally published (PDF) the latest proposal for resolving complaints that Microsoft has illegally bundled Internet Explorer with Windows. The proposal, made public last week, includes changes in the "ballot screen" that would give Windows users in Europe a menu for choosing a browser. The formal publication began a 30-day comment period in which the commission is soliciting feedback from consumers, rival software companies and others. (Via Groklaw)
Is Stephen Elop the highest-paid barista in history? The Microsoft Business Division president -- who last fiscal year made $4.8 million in salary, bonus and stock awards -- was recently spotted working an espresso machine on Microsoft's Redmond campus. Don't worry, Microsoft shareholders, it's not a permanent addition to his duties. Elop donated his time slinging coffee as part of the company's charitable giving campaign.
Microsoft's Zune HD AV Dock was intended for use with televisions, but Sean Alexander, who works in a separate Microsoft product group, demonstrates in this video how to use the dock to connect the Zune HD to a car.
The site 1800PocketPC.com put together the video below, showing the evolution of Microsoft's Windows Mobile interface, capped by the release of Windows Mobile 6.5 last week. The site says the video shows how far WinMo has come, but as some people commenting on YouTube point out, it's actually not a lot of change considering that it spans the past nine years.
