New Verizon ad campaign takes a direct swipe at AT&T's network |

A new advertising campaign from Verizon Wireless starting tonight during the big Monday Night Football game will take a direct swipe at AT&T's network, playing off the successful Apple iPhone commercials.
The image to the right offers a sneak peak at the campaign, which compares the network coverage of Verizon to AT&T. The fine print also is worth checking out. It reads: "Browse the Web and download music and apps, at 3G speed, in five times more places than the nation's number two wireless carrier. Before you pick a phone, pick a network."
As the exclusive carrier of the iPhone, AT&T has won new customers. But the network certainly has its fair share of critics, many who complain about dropped calls, missing text messages and other problems.
In fact, AT&T was recently ranked the worst wireless network in the west. (Tied with Sprint Nextel).
The ad comes amid a report that said Apple could more than double its market share in the U.S. if it ended its exclusive partnership with AT&T. (That deal comes to an end next year).
