Bellevue-based Intelligent Effects (formerly Data Ready Group) announced today the formation of a new business applications unit headed by three software industry veterans.
The company is aiming to expand its data and information consulting services by creating productivity apps for Microsoft’s SharePoint Server ’07 and ’10 and Microsoft Office ’07 and ’10, as well as custom Office applications.
According to the press release, “By bringing meaningful information directly to the desktop, Intelligent Effects helps clients leverage familiar tools to answer business questions and focus on business objectives rather than the technology itself.”
Rob Barker, the former vice president of the Application & Collaboration Platform Practice at Advaiya, Inc., a Kirkland-based software, marketing and technical consulting firm, joined the business applications unit as vice president. Jeff House, formerly a program manager architect on the Visual Studio team at Microsoft, has joined the unit as director of development. Lastly, Todd Baginski, recently a senior enterprise solutions strategist at Advaiya, is on board as senior solutions architect.
With the looming release of SharePoint ’10 and Word ’10, both of which are predicted to be out in the first half of 2010, Stefan Papp, co-founder and president of Intelligent Effects, believes the company is setting itself up well to be “uniquely qualified to meet the Enterprise community’s needs.”
