Ben Huh on Nightline? |

Ben Huh
This probably wouldn't have happened in the Ted Koppel era. But Seattle Internet entrepreneur Ben Huh, whose fast-growing network of comedy Web sites is attracting more than 200 million page views per month, appeared on Nightline yesterday.
That's right: Nightline -- the one-time heavy-duty news program which got its start covering the Iran hostage crisis in 1979. Huh certainly didn't take on something of that weight, instead discussing his company's quirky real estate Web site LovelyListing.com.
"The real estate market is tough enough, see how some people make it worse," said Nightline host Martin Bashir in introducing the segment.
Huh -- a former journalist -- must have gotten a kick out of that.
LovelyListing -- a Web site that Huh purchased last August -- showcases more than 1,000 unusual photos of homes that are listed for sale. For example, there's the bedroom full of stuffed animals of Garfield the cat or the living room with a crime scene evidence marker on the floor or the stairwell with a giant pink pig at the top.
"Just taking a photography class as a real estate agent should be required," Huh tells Nightline.
Huh, who runs the profitable network of more than a dozen Web sites such as I Can Has Cheezburger, Fail Blog and Graph Jam, has certainly turned into a media darling. In recent months, Huh's company has received coverage in Time, Slate and The New York Times.
Overexposed? As long as the traffic and advertising numbers keep climbing, Huh probably doesn't care.
