Seattle's Kedlin Company was one of the winners in Verizon's Apply Your Ideas contest. Kedlin won in the "Save Time" category for its Call Control application, which blocks telemarketers' calls to BlackBerry devices.
Seattle-based Onvia has inked deals with Msnbc.com and American City Business Journals (publisher of TechFlash) to provide details on federal stimulus funding and projects in specific regions. The deals follow news yesterday that Onvia posted net income of $167,000, the first profit since the third quarter of 2007. Onvia also said revenue increased 28 percent during the quarter to $6.6 million.

The company also named former United Online and Hearst employee Sandy Streim to vice president of east coast sales and former RealNetworks general manager Andy Terentjev to vice president of business development.
Seattle digital events and marketing agency Worktank has promoted Carrie Byrne to the position of creative director and Corey Pilkington to director of clients services.
