A burglar clad entirely in white? Mac Store thief 'thinks different' |

A burglary this week at the independent Mac Store in Seattle's University District was remarkable not only for the method of entry (breaking in through the shared drywall of an adjacent pet store) but also for the color of the clothes worn by the burglar -- nothing but white.
Forget the tradition of burglars wearing black. Apparently white is the way to blend in while trying to pull off a heist inside a store full of white iMacs, iPods and MacBooks. But fortunately for the store, it sounds like the strategy wasn't very effective.
SeattlePI.com reports that a security guard called police around 1:30 a.m. Thursday after finding a door forced open. The guard called a short time later to report seeing a man running from the building. A Seattle police spokesman tells the site that the suspect was dressed entirely in white -- wearing a white beanie, white sweatshirt and white sweatpants.
Police discovered that the burglar had initially broken in via the adjacent Petco and broken down a portion of the wall it shared with the computer store. Seattle Times photographer Cliff DesPaux was there and reported on Twitter that police arrived in time to prevent the burglar from getting away with a pile of stolen goods he had been stashing behind a nearby dumpster. However, the burglar got away.
As of Thursday morning, the suspect remained at large. Police told SeattlePI.com that the burglar was believed to be a white man in his 20s, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, 150 to 170 pounds.
