Ellen's Nook v. Oprah's Kindle
Remember when Oprah Winfrey crowned the Kindle her favorite new gadget last fall? It helped Amazon boost demand that year (It actually worked a little too well, as Amazon ran out of the readers in early December that year). Now Barnes & Noble is taking a page from that marketing playbook, getting Ellen DeGeneres to promote the Nook reader as a gift on her talk show (despite Nook's holiday supply issues). Ellen talks about the Nook at about 1:15 into the video, if you can hear her through the hysterical audience screaming.
