LAS VEGAS -- Microvision, the Redmond-based display technology company, made got lots of attention in the stock market last fall when it unveiled what it described as the first laser-based pico projector. So what's the big deal? I got a chance to stop by the Microvision booth at CES today to see the SHOWWX in action.
The device can project an image of 848 x 480 pixels on to just about any surface. It's expected to sell for about $500 when it debuts in the U.S. in March. The company says it's also meeting with device makers at CES to talk about integrating into their products the PicoP display engine that powers the SHOWWX.
