Alley Insider thinks Google has a little bit of Bing envy. And after checking out the Google home page tonight, one can kind of see what they mean. Google is promoting a service which allows users to change the background image on the search engine, selecting beautiful images like the one seen below. (Users also can upload their own images).
Of course, Bing has built its brand around spectacular photography. So, what do you think? Is Google copying Microsoft?
It looks like both Bing and Google have a thing for bridges too, as you can see below.
Microsoft Europe had some fun with Google's new initiative, posting on its Twitter account earlier today: "We've lost a background image, if found please return to bing.com ;)"
Follow-up: Google defaults back to white, you can stop complaining now.
