Here's the latest look at some of the Form D filings from Washington companies submitted to the SEC in recent weeks. In most cases, these are links to the raw filings, and as the SEC notes it has not been determined if they are accurate or complete. Nonetheless, there are some interesting new and old companies in this latest batch as you'll see below. What's also interesting is just how few overlap with the reported deals in the previous MoneyTree report.
HealthUnity, a health IT startup led by former Microsoft group manager Prem Urali, has raised $800,000 of a $3 million, according to a recent filing. The Bellevue company develops services to connect health information entities.
Impinj, a 10-year-old Seattle RFID company, has landed $5.7 million of a $7 million debt round. The company has raised more than $110 million in venture capital since it was founded, with investors including Madrona Venture Group, Polaris Venture Partners, Samsung Ventures America, UPS Strategic Enterprise Fund and Unilever Technology Ventures.
DocuSign, the Seattle electronic signature company, has raised $2 million of a $3 million debt round. The deal follows an investment in the company last fall by the National Association of Realtors. DocuSign has raised about $30 million.
Wrazz, a daily deal site led by Ian Porter, Bret Eickhoff, Matthew Curry and others, said it is looking to raise up to $1 million. The company says on its Web site, which is currently under construction, that it is the the "one stop site to find amazing deals and real time information of what's going on in Seattle."
X2 Impact, working on technologies to reduce repetitive brain injuries in sports, has raised $200,000 of a $1 million debt round. Its invention is a "shock sensing mouth guard" that can be worn by athletes. Former Seattle Seahawks coach Jim Mora is listed as chief marketing officer, with the company led by Christoph Mack.
Safetec Compliance Systems of Vancouver, Washington has raised $493,000 of a $1.5 million round. The company has developed software to help companies with chemical compliance and safety programs.
Prometheus Energy said that it has raised $12 million of a $20 million round. The Redmond company produces and distributes liquid natural gas from stranded and waste sources of methane.
Demand Energy Networks has raised $650,000 of a $3.3 million round, according to a filing. Founded in 2008, the Liberty Lake company helps utilities more effectively manage electricity inventory. Its Demand Shifter product stores electricity at businesses and residences during off-peak hours utilizing new battery technology.
NanoIce of Mill Creek is looking to raise $100,000.
Advanced Thermoplastic Composites has raised $350,000 of a $500,000 round.
Novel Inc., a Redmond gaming company that plans to bring video gaming simulations to the business world, has raised a $550,000 round. The virtual reality company is led by Brayden Olson.
Atossa Genetics, a Seattle company that is developing an easy-to-use test which collects sample fluid from the breast to determine if cancer cells are present, has raised $106,000. The company is led by Steven Quay, a former faculty member at the Stanford University School of Medicine and the former president and CEO of MDRN.
Nuun & Company, maker of a portable electrolyte drink tablet that allows users to stay hydrated, has raised $3 million of a $5 million round.
Kineta, a Seattle biotech company led by Charles Magness, said it has raised $134,000. The company recently inked a partnership with The Iacocca Family Foundation to speed development of an autoimmune drug candidate to treat Type 1 diabetes mellitus.
Modumetal, which is developing new metals and metal coatings, has raised $3.6 million, according to a filing. The Seattle company -- founded four years ago by Christina Lomasney -- did not disclose the amount when it announced the round last month.
SenseTrak of Seattle has raised $100,000 of a $1.1 million round. The company says that it is creating a technology platform to deliver advice, products and community focused on intimacy and sensual awareness for adults.
Liquid Light of Seattle has raised $197,107 of a $600,000 round. The applied research company is working on research areas related to nanotechnology, energy and advanced materials.
Point Inside, which is developing indoor mapping technologies for shopping malls and airports, has raised $450,000. Previous coverage of the Seattle startup -- led by Kevin Foreman -- is here.
DigitalScirocco, which is developing an auction-based marketplace for digital content, has raised $1.1 million. Here's a look at founder Bruce D'Ambrosio's pitch at the DEMO conference earlier this year.
Cequint, which provides caller ID services to carriers, has raised $750,000 of a $1.6 million round. The Seattle company is led by wireless veteran Rick Hennessey.
General Biodiesel, a Seattle biofuels producer, has raised $693,000 of a $1.5 million round. The company is led by Yale Wong.
