The big tech story of the day -- going on right now in Cupertino, California -- is the Apple press conference to address problems with the iPhone. According to reports, Apple CEO Steve Jobs came on stage after a song which mocked some of the antenna problems with the iPhone 4. But he then went on to say this: “We’re not perfect, we know that you know that and phones aren’t perfect. But we want to make all of our users happy. If you don’t know that about Apple, you don’t know Apple.”
I've been following the coverage at The New York Times and Engadget, both of which are live blogging the event. Jobs also told the crowd that the iPhone 4 is possibly the best product the company has ever made, with more than three million sold to date.
Update: As many expected, Jobs pledges to give a free case to everyone who purchased an iPhone 4. And for those who already purchased a case, they will get a refund. (The protective case around the device reportedly solves the nagging antenna problems).
