Amazon.com gets touch screen (at its new Seattle headquarters)
Amazon's Kindle may not have touch screen yet, but Amazon employees are enjoying a little touch screen technology at their new Seattle headquarters campus. Vulcan Real Estate, which is building the headquarters, showed off what looked like a giant iPad in the lobby of one of the Amazon buildings this morning. It's a 40-inch, touch screen wall display that gives real-time public transit information and the location of nearby restaurants, bars, and other amenities. Nice perk. Video of the unveiling below.
The display gets live data feeds from the popular OneBusAway application, King County Metro, Sound Transit and the Seattle Streetcar. They're eventually going into all the buildings on the Amazon campus in Seattle's South Lake Union.
