The Benaroya Company is gearing up to open a new environmentally-friendly data center in Puyallup, one powered by hydroelectric and wind energy. The facility at the South Hill Business and Technology Center features 56,605 square feet of raised floor space and an on-site 42.5 Megawatt substation. It is set to open in the next two weeks and adds to the regions growing number of data centers.
“When compared to other data centers available in the country today, we believe that South Hill is at the top of the list for reliability, energy conservation, and environmental sensitivity," said Larry Benaroya in a statement.
The company said that the new data center will provide energy consumptions savings of 35 percent or more.
