Seattle-based Rhapsody is opening a new 7,500 square foot data center operated by Internap, a move that comes a few months after the online music service spun off from parent company RealNetworks. Rhapsody was attracted to the facility in part because of its use of "green" technologies such as roof-top colling and ultrasonic humidification. This marks the third expansion of Internap's data center facility in Tukwila.
Founded in 1996 in Seattle, Internap is a colocation and hosting company that posted annual revenue of $256 million last year. The company is now based in Atlanta.
Internap now has 27,000 square feet of space at the Tukwila facility, with other tenants including Ecenta, Tier 3 and Doyenz.
