Penny Arcade Expo was overflowing this weekend in Seattle, with a reported 67,600 people attending the three-day game-fest and geek convention. This despite the fact that PAX expanded to Boston earlier this year with PAX East, which might have been expected to reduce demand for the original.
No doubt about it: This thing is a phenomenon.
So it makes sense that the Penny Arcade team would be contemplating further expansion, dropping hints during the show that they're thinking about an international version of the show.
That little nugget of potential news comes from Gamasutra (via Joystiq). It was gleaned from a media briefing at the show with Penny Arcade creators Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins. Gamasutra reports that the country for a third PAX would probably be chosen based on "somewhere the duo want to visit."
It's hard to know sometimes whether these guys are joking or serious, but based on what the Penny Arcade team has built so far, a United Nations of PAX seems perfectly reasonable.
