Two Seattle area private currency companies are joining forces in a deal of undisclosed size. BizXchange, described as a business-to-business barter network, has purchased startup Dibspace. Members of BizXchange use what are called BizX dollars in transactions, while Dibspace pioneered the use of Dibits for consumers.
“In addition to our growing network of large businesses and enterprises, we can now expand our reach and meet the increasing demand for barter options among consumers and small businesses,” said Bob Bagga, president and CEO of BizXchange, in a press release.
Launched in 2009 by Dominic Canterbury, Dibspace now has more than 5,000 users in the Seattle area. The company said that the service allows small businesses and individuals to "fill company downtime or sell excess capacity."
“The goals of the Dibspace community members to gain greater efficiencies in their personal and business lives will remain central," said Canterbury. "This partnership offers the best opportunity for Dibspace to continue to expand and achieve those goals.”
