Chris DeVore is handing over the CEO reins of AppStoreHQ to Scott Blanksteen, a Seattle mobile veteran who previously held executive titles at IceBreaker and Qpass. DeVore, who also manages the startup incubator Founder's Co-op, will remain actively involved as executive chairman.
“Our business is growing rapidly as the smartphone applications market continues to explode,” said DeVore. “The wide range of strategic opportunities and the need to scale the business made this the right time to add seasoned business leadership to the team."
AppStoreHQ has developed a directory of mobile applications, and is working on new ways to make it easier for mobile phone users to find what is important to them.
Blanksteen most recently worked at IceBreaker, a developer of mobile games. Before that, he was the general manager of the analytics product group at Qpass. Blanksteen said that he's thrilled to join the company, and to help tackle the "increasingly difficult mobile app discovery problem."
AppStoreHQ has been on a bit of a growth curve lately. It now reports over two million monthly visitors, whcih equates to more than 200 percent traffic growth. DeVore didn't disclose revenue figures, but said they are achieving a six figure revenue run rate.
