We come across a lot of innovative technologies here at TechFlash. But none has gotten us quite as excited as GrinOn Industries, developer of the "Bottoms Up Draft Beer Dispensing System." Yep, you read that right. The company -- based in tiny Montesano, Washington -- has developed a technology that fills beer cups from the bottom in what it claims is the world's fastest beer dispensing system.
You've got to see it to believe it. And luckily, the folks at GrinOn have documented their amazing work in this video where they set a world record filling 56 beers in just one minute.
How does it work?
"(The) system uses special cups that have a hole at the bottom covered by a magnet. Pressure from the beer dispenser pushes the magnet up and allows the cup to fill. Once full, the weight of the beer pushes the magnet back down and seals the cup. Yep, pretty genius."
You can see more videos of the technology -- which has been tested at the University of Nevada Las Vegas -- here.
One challenge facing the company is the special beer cups cost 45 cents, more than four times the amount of traditional cups. However, SportsGrid notes that the company could offset some of that cost by attaching advertisements to the magnets which are used to seal the cups.
Who said that innovation is dead in America? Now, if they could just do something about reducing the costs of beer prices at Qwest Field that would be a real breakthrough. Here's another view:
