Jon Stewart confronts Bill Gates: 'You're Batman'
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart this evening, an appearance which followed the release of the billionaire philanthropist's annual letter in which offered a call to action to wipe out polio.
Gates spent most of the time discussing the challenges of introducing the polio vaccine in Afghanistan, Nigeria, Pakistan and India. He also discussed some of the foundation's efforts to help reform the educational system in the U.S. -- which led Stewart to quip that Gates really is Batman.
"Not Robin," Gates replied.
"No. No. No. You're Batman. You weren't Batman before, but now you are Batman," Stewart said.
Gates has made several appearances on the Daily Show over the years, and it's always fun to see how the tech titan presents himself on the comedy show. In fact, Gates almost prematurely left the set again this time, but Stewart kept him seated.
