Angels from Keiretsu Forum invested $8.9 million in 16 Northwest companies last year - an "encouraging increase," following troubling economic times, said NW chapter president Nathan McDonald.
12 of the companies are located in the Pacific Northwest, including Marketfish, a marketing software company, and real estate investment company Pacific West Land. Tech companies received 68 percent of the funding, real estate companies, 24 percent, and the remaining eight percent went to consumer services and life sciences.
Members of Keiretsu, an angel investor network, provide early-stage capital in the range of $250,000 - $3 million to high-quality, diverse investment opportunities. Keiretsu's Northwest members have invested over $65 million in 113 companies since 2005.
