Zapd, the app that lets you create a website in 60 seconds using nothing but your iPhone, is here.
All you have to do is pick a theme, take some photos, add a little text and - voila - you have a website to share via Facebook, Twitter or email. The collection of designs looks pretty good - you can pick from themes like Word Travel, Metropolitan and Poster Art (the photo above is Minimal Classic Black) - and change themes whenever you want, even after publishing.
TechFlash first reported on the mobile app, which is backed by some big Seattle tech names, in early February. The app is housed under the umbrella of Seattle startup Pressplane (also known for its graphic design marketplace Inkd and online art market Imagekind).
The free app is available from the Apple App store and the sites are optimized for phone or tablet browsers.
Pressplane is headed by CEO and founder Kelly Smith and co-founder and chief architect Kristoph Cichocki. Backers include former Zillow.com CEO Rich Barton; angel investor John Cunningham; former Expedia CEO Erik Blachford; and Mika Salmi, the former president of global digital media for MTV Networks/Viacom, who serves as chairman of Pressplane.
