Microsoft apparently will pay mobile giant Nokia more than $1 billion to develop Windows-based handsets for smartphones.
Citing unnamed sources, Bloomberg News is reporting details of the a smartphone software agreement between Microsoft and Nokia, part of an effort to compete with Apple and Google.
In February, Microsoft and Nokia announced a deal to work together on a bid to challenge the Apple iOS and Google Android in the critical mobile industry.
