Yapta hires Orbitz, Real Networks execs |

Online travel startup Yapta.com has hired former executives with Orbitz and Real Networks to lead the Seattle company’s business services for online travel agencies and credit card providers.
Karim Meghji has been appointed vice president of product, and Valerie Layman as vice president of business development.
Seattle-based Yapta provides airfare tracking and hotel rate tracking services.
In April 2010, Yapta landed $300,000 from existing investors. Backed by First Round Capital, Voyager Capital, Bay Partners and others, Yapta raised capital last summer bringing total funding to $7.7 million.
Yapta has partnerships with Kayak and SideStep.com.
Meghji spent 10 years at Real Networks where he worked with Yapta CEO, Tom Romary. At Orbirtz, Layman worked with current Yapta board member David Falter in the Orbitz corporate travel division.
