Amazon.com continues to rapidly expand its in-house publishing efforts with the launch Wednesday of Thomas & Mercer to focus on mysteries and thrillers.
Amazon plans to release four books on the imprint this fall: “Resuscitation” by D.M. Annechino, “Stirred” by J.A. Konrath and Blake Crouch, “The Immortalists” by Kyle Mills and “Already Gone” by John Rector.
The books will be sold online and at national and independent book stores. They also will be available in Kindle, print and audio formats.
Thomas & Mercer becomes the fifth imprint from Amazon Publishing, as the Seattle ecommerce giant goes deeper into the publishing business. Thomas & Mercer are two streets in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood that border Amazon’s new headquarters.
On May 4, Amazon rolled out Montlake Romance, a publishing venture that features romance novels, joining AmazonEncore, AmazonCrossing and Powered by Amazon.
