Bing’s market share remains flat, along with Google and other major search engines.
Bing now commands 14.4 percent of the search market, according to the latest comScore report with data compiled from June. When combined with partner Yahoo, that number jumps to 30.2 percent – still less than half of Google’s 65.5 percent.
But the promising news for Bing is its year-over-year growth in market share. Bing’s share has grown nearly 41 percent, while Google and Yahoo have remained stagnant at 6.4 percent and 2.2 percent, respectively, according to TechCrunch.
Also on the report are lesser-known search engines from Ask and AOL. Both are powered by Google, but have still lost double-digit percentages in market share.
Bing has been live for a little over two years, but has leveraged its way into becoming serious competition for Google. I have to wonder if talks of a Yahoo-Microsoft merger will heat up again.
