There is lots of buzz surrounding what Amazon.com has in store for Kindle, with the registration of KindleScribe and KindleScribes.com.
Those registrations have sparked speculation that the next-generation reader will be tooled with a stylus for note taking.
Over the weekend, Amazon’s lawyers registered the domain names KindleScribe.com and KindleScribes.com, according to Fusible. The Seattle ecommerce giant also recently registered KindleAir and KindleSocialNetwork. The names have touched off a debate about what Amazon has in store for the Kindle, as it competes with the recently launched Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch Reader.
Engadget asks could Amazon be working on an ultra-thin Kindle preloaded with a tablet-style touchscreen.
Amazon has been busy on the Kindle front. The company recently slashed the price of Kindle to $99, prompting some to speculate that Amazon was on the verge of launching the much-anticpiated next-generation Kindle.
Earlier this month, Amazon.com launched Kindle Cloud Reader, a new web application that allows Kindle readers to access their books from the cloud or download them for future reading. The app works with PCs and tablets, including the iPad. The Kindle Cloud Reader comes shortly after Apple put restrictions on apps sold through the Apple App Store.
