Microsoft has released Windows Phone 7.5, codenamed Mango, to select devices today. According to a Microsoft blog post, Internet Sharing (better known as tethering) will be one of the biggest updates. Also updated is the Web Marketplace.
When will your phone get the update? Depends on your carrier.
Microsoft has a website to let users know when the updates are available. Right now, all of the major carriers listed simply have “Delivering update” as the status for Mango. Further testing may delay the launch for some.
Microsoft holds about 6 percent of the smartphone market, and that number has been losing ground to iOS and Android devices. The company has stated that they hope the Mango update will help increase market share.
