Microsoft will be hosting the Kids TechFest this Saturday, aiming to get kids in grades K-12 interested in technology and science.
Presented by the Boys and Girls Club and the Technology Access Foundation, volunteers from the tech giant will host more than 250 students. Some of the activities will include demonstrations of claymation, editing video footage and getting a sneak peek at new Microsoft products. Classes on robotics, software development, social media and career development will also be offered.
The goal is to get students interested in science, technology, engineering and math careers at a young age. Last month at Seattle’s Ingraham High School, Microsoft announced a program allowing students to receive certification for free at Washington high schools.
The event will be held Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Microsoft campus in Building 33.
