More and more consumers are using mobile websites to compare prices, search for coupons and research products when shopping. Kirkland-based Hipcricket has found that 63 percent of smartphone users have visited a retailer’s website, up from 53 percent in 2010. But the survey found that only 9 percent of consumers said their favorite brands send special offers via mobile devices.
Tacoma’s Internet Identity (IID) has been awarded the Online Trust Award along with companies like JP Morgan and Intuit. The awards recognize companies and organizations that work to increase internet trust. IID won the award for the Business Solutions category.
Microsoft is now taking nominations for the Imagine Cup competition. Categories include Software Design, Game, Design and IT Challenge. The Imagine Cup aims to help solve some of the world’s issues using technology like environmental concerns and disaster relief.
SMS marketing service Tatango is celebrating its fourth anniversary and has announced that the company has led 200,000 text message campaigns. Founder Derek Johnson started the company after issues arose from communicating with his college friends. Some of the Seattle campaigns it hosts include The Ram, Acme Bowl, Emerald City Smoothie.
